We launched Indaba Music in 2007, with a simple goal in mind: to make musicians' lives easier. We created a place for musicians around the world to network and make music together through online collaboration and have grown to over 500,000 musicians - from hobbyists to Grammy Award winners.

Our platform now offers tools and services that help musicians across all aspects of their careers - from networking and education, to production, promotion, and distribution.

We’re always building new features and will continue to join forces with premier music and technology partners to help musicians get the most out of the latest opportunities on the web and in the music industry.

Our team is made up of musicians, tech wizards, and business folks who are committed to helping musicians around the world do what they love. Our mission is to make Indaba Music the home for musicians online, and we’re working day and night to make sure they have everything they need to succeed.

Indaba is a Zulu word that refers to a gathering for sharing ideas, doing business, and discussing important matters. It embodies the collaborative nature that is central to the mission of Indaba Music.
